Treatment Approach & Areas of Expertise

I specialize in helping teenagers and adults struggling with a broad range of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, obsessions and compulsions and overwhelming emotional experiences including significant changes in mood. I also work with clients to successfully navigate major life transitions, relationship distress, identity concerns, and effectively cope with stress and burnout. I have specialized training in processing, recovering and healing from traumatic experiences, particularly sexual trauma. My goal is to help individuals gain greater insight into what is causing them distress, help them develop new adaptive response patterns, better relate to themselves and others, and connect with a greater sense of fulfillment.

My therapeutic style is collaborative and holistic. Specifically, I use a trauma and multicultural-informed treatment approach that allows us to take a broad view of an individual’s distress that considers the impact of various aspects of their lives, such as identity, family, and culture. I utilize an integration of cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, and relational principles to help clients reach their goals and improve their quality of life. I strongly believe in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship and utilize warmth and humor to help create a safe space for client growth.
